Privacy Policy for Strike Lane Bowling
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how the Strike Lane Bowling app ("the app", shown on the Home Screen as Bowling Bowling) and its online services handle information. The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or contacts, and does not use your precise location.
Third-Party Services
The app may use:
- Apple Game Center for leaderboard functionality. If you are signed in to Game Center, your Game Center profile and game scores are handled by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob for advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Unity Gaming Services (Authentication, Relay and multiplayer sessions) for online play. When you first play online, the app signs in anonymously and Unity assigns a random player ID; no account, name or email address is involved. Unity routes game data between the two players of a match and uses your network address to choose a nearby server region. See Unity's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Push Notification service, only if you invite a friend to a Private Game and choose to wait in the background, to tell you when your friend has joined.
Information These Services May Collect
These third-party services may collect and process information such as:
- Device identifiers
- Advertising data, such as advertising identifiers and ad interactions
- Diagnostics, such as crash and performance data
- Usage data, such as how you interact with the app
- Approximate location derived from your network address
This information is collected and used according to each provider's own privacy policy, linked above.
Private Game Invitations
When you invite a friend to a Private Game, our invitation service (hosted on Netlify) stores, for that invitation only: the anonymous Unity player IDs of you and the friend who joins, the game's session code, the invitation's status and times, and, if you choose to wait in the background, your device's push notification token. To prevent abuse, it also keeps a one-way hash of your network address for up to about two hours. Push tokens are deleted as soon as the match starts, the invitation is cancelled or it expires. Invitations expire after 10 minutes and are deleted, with everything stored for them, within about an hour after that.
Online Battle Statistics
When an online match starts, we record the game mode, the time it started and, for each player, a pseudonymous identifier calculated from their anonymous player ID with a secret key. This identifier is not your player ID and cannot be traced back to it, or to you, without that key. We use these records only to count online matches and players, for example how many Private Games were played each day. They are not used for advertising, and they are not sold or shared with third parties.
- Match records: deleted after 90 days.
- Daily match totals, which contain no player identifiers: kept for 2 years.
- Monthly counts of distinct players: the pseudonymous identifiers are deleted after 13 months.
If we start recording more details of online matches in a future version of the app, such as results or scores, we will update this policy first.
Sale of Personal Information
The developer does not directly sell your personal information.
Your Choices
You can manage ad personalization and tracking permissions in your device settings (on iOS, under Settings > Privacy & Security). You can sign out of Game Center in your device settings at any time. Online play is optional: the data described under Private Game Invitations and Online Battle Statistics is only collected when you play online. Push notifications are only used if you allow them, and you can turn them off in Settings > Notifications.
Because online statistics use pseudonymous identifiers, we cannot look up records about you by name or email. If you have questions or a request about your data, contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
